On October 26-27, the International Geology-Mining Forum - "Geomining" Forum will be held in Baku for the first time by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources State Agency for Utilization of Mineral Resources and Geological Exploration Agency.
The main goal of the forum dedicated to the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" is to bring Azerbaijan's existing and potential opportunities in the field of mining and geology to the international arena, to mutually assimilate experience, establish communications and attract international and local investment in the said field.
At that prestigious event, where mining experts and geologists from many countries of the world will speak, experience will be exchanged on modern trends in this field, new technologies and the use of international methodology in their application. Thus, the forum will be of great importance in terms of adaptation of Azerbaijan's mining industry to the new approaches available in the world in this field. In addition, topics such as accountability and investment trends in the mining industry, new methodology and conceptual modeling in geological exploration, environmental impacts of the mining industry were also included in the agenda of the forum.
AZERTAC, the forum's media partner, reports that Nigar Orujova, press secretary of the State Mineral Resources Utilization Agency, said this at a press conference held on June 7.
N. Orucova said that about 70 experts from more than 30 countries are expected to speak at the forum. Also, within the framework of the two-day program, local and international experts will have the opportunity to meet individually and exchange ideas.
